Conclusion

Digital FDG PET shows distinct spatial pattern of metabolism in different subtypes of dementia and is helpful in early diagnosis , appropriate management and prognosis of patients with neurocognitive disorders. This is when fused with imaging biomarkers obtained with 3D data, DWI and SWI on 3T MRI helps in increasing sensitivity and specificity.

Multidisciplinary approach using best available imaging modality(fig 19) with dedicated neuro software tools in conjunction with clinical diagnosis improves the learning curve and increases the accuracy of interpretation for these studies.
