Purpose

Radiology procedure workflow is a summation of individual workflows of several actors in the process [1]. Lean production in healthcare enables the removal of rework and waste and resolves procedural problems. There are several tools for implementing lean methodology in radiology procedure workflow [2]. The Kaizen philosophy is a process improvement element in lean production. Kaizen is based on the idea that significant gains can be achieved over time in workflow by continuous and focused improvements in a process. The changes and improvements are not meant to be radical but instead are small, manageable changes that eliminate and reduce waste, bit by bit [3].

We aimed to apply a Lean (Kaizen-like) Process Improvement of Urologic MRI protocols at our institution to improve scanning times.
