Romania, between January 2020 and November 2023. All cases included T2-weighted imaging and diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) for bpMRI, whereas mpMRI additionally incorporated dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) sequences.
Prostate volume was measured on both imaging modalities, and lesions were assigned PI-RADS scores based on the Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System (PI-RADS) guidelines.
To assess the reliability of measurements and PI-RADS scoring, inter-rater agreement was evaluated using intraclass correlation coefficients (ICC) and kappa statistics. The study also compared the frequency of different PI-RADS categories assigned by each modality and identified specific diagnostic limitations of bpMRI.

The study was conducted and approved by the Ethics Committee of ‘Dr. Victor Babes’ Hospital of Infectious Diseases and Pneumophtisiology Timisoara, Romania (approval number 7914/06.09.2024).
