Conclusion
TBS has an emerging role for improving osteoporotic fracture risk prediction by assessing bone trabecular microarchitecture. TBS identifies an additional group of patients who may benefit from bone protection treatment compared to DEXA alone. Peridiscal sclerosis, scoliosis and atherosclerosis are common findings in patients undergoing DEXA, but do not significantly affect TBS.
