Conclusion

The study shows that the presence of AF correlates with reduced left ventricular strain values, whereas LVEF was reduced in only 50% of the AF group. Although based on a limited sample, the results support the role of left ventricular strain assessment as a sensitive and early marker of ventricular impairment in patients with AF, but further research is needed.
