Purpose

Scoping exercise of the RR workforce in NWE to determine:

  • Number of Trusts with RR reporting PFI examinations.
  • Number and Agenda for Change (AfC) banding of RRs reporting PFI.
  • Types/body regions of PFI reported upon (examples - chest X-ray (CXR), musculo-skeletal (MSK) - axial/appendicular etc.).
  • Presence/absence/nature of job plan.
  • Number or reports expected per session.
  • PFI reporting output volume (01/04/2022>31/03/2023). Impact of RRs on total PFI reporting output volumes.
  • Requirements for double reporting.
  • Qualifications required for RR independent reporting.
  • Governance arrangements for independent RR practice.
  • Preceptorship, mentorship/ CPD for RRs.
  • Barriers to development.

To make recommendations for improving RR workforce outputs for PFI reporting.
