Learning objectives

The purpose of this review is to provide clarity on the diverse scoring systems used in prostate MRI to improve the management of prostate cancer (PCa). As MRI technology becomes a key component in PCa diagnosis, different scoring systems have emerged to address various stages of disease progression, including detection, active surveillance, and post-treatment recurrence assessment.

This article aims to guide radiologists and clinicians in selecting the appropriate scoring system to ensure consistent and reliable reporting, enhance communication between medical professionals, and improve patient outcomes (1, 2).
