Learning objectives

Breast cancer is a heterogeneous disease, composed of various subtypes with different histological characteristics. Breast tumors can be classified into slow-growing and fast-growing tumors. The aim of this study is to characterize the primary histological types of these tumors, incorporating a comprehensive review of the latest literature on diagnostic accuracy. It retrospectively evaluates cases of false negatives to provide a more detailed characterization of diagnosis, and proposes strategies to mitigate diagnostic imaging errors specific to these types of cancer.
