The correct interpretation of clinical data and imaging exams is fundamental to prevent diagnostic errors in these types of slow-growing breast cancers.
Based on this, following some steps will significantly improve the accuracy of image interpretation and reduce the rate of false negatives in the evaluation of slow-growing breast tumors.
The steps can be characterized as: reviewing clinical data, being alert to subtle findings and judging them by their more malignant characteristics; comparing current images with several previous studies; and not classifying lesions with suspicious characteristics as benign based on stability.
