Conclusion

Embolisation of the middle meningeal artery as an aetiological treatment for chronic subdural haematomas, both for curative purposes and as an adjuvant to surgery. Promising results with a success rate of up to 98%, with low rates of recurrence and surgical salvage, as well as associated complications, in selected patients, making it an effective, reproducible and safe procedure.
