Methods and materials

ADHD patients from the UCLA database on the OpenNeuro website (https://openneuro.org/datasets/ds000030/versions/00016), along with age- and gender-matched control subjects, were included in the study [7]. Diffusion-weighted image preprocessing followed the protocol from previous studies [8], including motion artifact removal with dwidenoise in MRtrix and eddy current correction using dwifslpreproc in combination with FSL-Eddy [9,10]. The right and left DTI-ALPS indices were then automatically determined on the aligned tensors using the ROI method described in previous publications [11].
