Conclusion

HFP is richly innervated resulting in significant pain caused by an abnormality, which usually present as knee pain. MRI helps to diagnose and differentiate among various pathologies. Knowledge of basic anatomy of HFP and its lesions is crucial in diagnosis which can alter the clinical approach, management and prognosis.
