Conclusion

The composition of Radiography training programs varied across institutions, as seen in previous European studies. The level of clinical placement hours was substantially lower than that identified in recent EFRS surveys, as was the level of postgraduate and doctoral study opportunities. Spain had the overall lowest requirements for clinical placements and were substantially lower than many European counterparts and lower than in many Latin American countries. Practice tutors were employed but not consistently across all placement sites which requires addressing. Harmonisation of education and increased postgraduate opportunities are recommended as the level of Postgraduate opportunities were significantly lacking in comparison to European Radiography Centres exclusive of Spanish centres. Only one centre offered a doctoral study program specifically for Radiography.

This poster presents a descriptive summary of the survey findings, further research is underway to directly compare Spanish Radiography training and Spanish Radiographer postgraduate opportunities versus Latin American Institutions.
