Inclusion: All patients within the stated duration with head injury listed as (part of) the indications for a CT request. A total of 38 patients (36 adults and 2 children) were included.
Exclusion: 1 excluded- Incomplete information
The session CT Head scan was completed/reported;
- Daytime scans, 9:00-5:00 PM, Monday to Friday- 14.
- Others (Out-of-hours and weekends) scans -24.
Findings
- No intracranial events were identified in these scans.
- 4 patients had extracranial events, not obvious on examination.
- Orbital floor fracture
- Haemosinus
- Subperiosteal haematomas

- General average- 38 minutes
- Daytime scans- 43 minutes
- Out-of-hours scans- 36 minutes
Time from scan to final report
- General average- 78 minutes
- Daytime-73 minutes
- Out of Hours- 80 minutes
