Conclusion

Typical values in terms of CTDIvol and DLP were established for head tomography exams with clinical indications of headache, abdominal tomography with clinical indication of abdominal pain and chest tomography with clinical indication of pneumonia, these exams being more frequent in the population served by the hospital and which can contribute to optimizing doses. These values were lower than those in the USA and Brazil and equivalent to most Europeans. Continued efforts to refine CT protocols and implement dose reduction strategies are essential to maintain these standards and improve patient care.
