Findings and procedure details

Thirty-four (34) participated in the course, including residents from different specialties, such as emergency medicine, internal medicine, anesthesia, psychiatry, general surgery, family medicine and radiology. All participants were satisfied with the course and had their expectations met, while 95% would recommend the course to other colleagues.

On the quiz, a total of 24 participants had a score of over 50%, 21 over 60% and 15 over 69%. The highest score was 92%. Only 4 participants had a score of under 50% and the lowest score was 32%. The degree of satisfaction with each topic separately can be viewed in Figure 3.

Regarding missing topics, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease was mentioned by three participants. Course participants wrote the following as the most important learning objectives from the course: systematic review, assessment of image quality, stages of lung edema, assessment of nasogastric tube positioning, mediastinal and hilar conditions, the amount of information offered by a CXR, oreo cookie sign, donut sign, bat sign and spine sign. Images from our course can be viewed in Figure 4.

Thus far our department has organized four crash courses. The first two were online due to Covid-19 restrictions and the last two had physical attendance. Every year notices not only increasing number of participants (55 participants in the last one), but also increasing number of different medical specialists.
