The recognition of a persistent trigeminal artery on imaging studies is of paramount importance for the accurate diagnosis and management of associated cerebrovascular and neurological conditions. By understanding the anatomical and clinical nuances of the PTA, radiologists, neurosurgeons, and other healthcare professionals can enhance patient outcomes through precise diagnosis and thoughtfully planned interventions. Raising awareness of this vascular variant and its implications allows for more informed clinical decisions, ultimately leading to optimized patient care and reduced risk of misdiagnosis or complications.

The critical role of the PTA in cerebrovascular pathology cannot be overstated. Its association with intracranial aneurysms highlights the need for vigilance in patients with this anatomical variant, as the altered hemodynamics can lead to the development of aneurysms within the circle of Willis or other parts of the cerebral vasculature. Early identification of such aneurysms through advanced imaging techniques permits timely intervention, which is essential for preventing potential rupture and the subsequent risk of subarachnoid hemorrhage, a life-threatening condition that can have devastating consequences.

Moreover, the clinical implications of PTA extend beyond aneurysm formation.
