Hydatid cysts can be seen in any organ and mimic benign or malignant cystic lesions. Therefore, they should be considered a differential diagnosis. Other organs or tissues may be affected even without liver involvement, and diagnosis can be much more challenging in such cases, especially in patients living in endemic areas. However, we should not forget that with increasing migration rates, we may encounter hydatid disease in many places, not just in endemic areas but in a globalizing world.
