The group of 9 patients included 6 boys and 3 girls aged between 8-17 years old (mean= 13,6). All of the patients underwent MR diagnostic and surgical treatment.
For the purpose of our study all cases were numbered from I to IX.

Brain scans were performed using 1,5 Tesla MR scanner with standard MR protocol with TSE, FLAIR, DWI, SWI, MPR sequences T1- and T2- weighted imaging, without and with contrast. We retrospectively analysed MR features of the tumors, such as: location, signal intensity, morphology (solid, cystic), contrast enhancement, presence of calcifications, “salt and pepper” sign, mass effect. One patient (VIII) had CT scan before MR.
The tumor tissue samples of the 9 patients were analysed in The Pathology Department of our Institute. In one case (VIII), the samples had been additionally consulted in The Pathology Department in Germany- where the primary result has been confirmed. All tumor samples were thoroughly analysed for histopathological, immunohistochemical and genetic changes.
A literature review was performed.
