Findings and procedure details

A comparative analysis was conducted on treatment plans for 10 patients using Novalis IMRT and Halcyon IMRT, VMAT techniques.

In comparing the three plans, 95% target coverage in terms of prescribed dose was highest in Halcyon IMRT and lowest in Halcyon VMAT. Additionally, CI and HI values demonstrated superior outcomes in Halcyon IMRT.

Regarding OAR comparison, the lens exhibited the lowest Dmax value in Halcyon IMRT, while optic nerve Dmax was lowest in Novalis IMRT. Halcyon IMRT plans also demonstrated superior protection for the brain stem and optic chiasm.

The gamma evaluation pass rate of the Delta4 phantom, utilized as a quality assurance tool for the three plans, demonstrated satisfactory values well within the predefined criteria.
