Hysterosalpingogram is the first-line investigation for assessing tubal patency in patients with sub-fertility . It is one of the routinely done investigations during the treatment of Infertility evaluating cervical canal, uterine cavity, fallopian tubes and immediate peritoneal cavity. It is also done before IVF in some centres to assess tubal patency. HSG, though a diagnostic test, can sometimes have therapeutic effect with proven higher fertility rates in patients undergoing the test.
