Background

Leiomyomas, common benign mesenchymal tumors of the uterus, are typically diagnosed through ultrasonography or MRI. However, degenerative changes and histologic subtypes can significantly affect MRI findings. This exhibit provides an overview of the wide range of clinical and MRI manifestations of leiomyomas, correlating with pathological findings. We also review advanced MRI techniques for diagnosis and therapeutic strategies based on WHO 2020 and FIGO 2018 guidelines.
