This IRB approved, retrospective study examined ED patients with and without vertigo who received HR-NECTH. Each patient’s SSC was examined using coronal and oblique coronal reformations (Pöschl reformation) to assess the SSC for SST/SSD. Patients were separated into three groups: ED patients without vertigo, ED patients with vertigo but with alternate possible medical/imaging etiologies for their symptoms (explained vertigo), and ED patients with vertigo without alternate etiologies (unexplained vertigo). Patients enrolled in the explained vertigo group demonstrated vertigo in the context of intracranial hemorrhage, intracranial vascular abnormalities, intracranial mass/malignancy, stroke, and temporal bone abnormalities other than SST/SSD. Prevalence of SSC abnormalities in these three groups were tabulated and analyzed with confidence intervals and Fisher's exact test.
