Background

Orbital inflammatory disorders affect the optic nerve, extraocular muscles, lacrimal gland, and adjacent tissues due to infectious, autoimmune, or idiopathic causes. Symptoms include pain, swelling, proptosis, and visual disturbances. Common conditions include orbital cellulitis, idiopathic orbital inflammation, dacryoadenitis, optic neuritis, optic perineuritis, IgG4-related disease, and Tolosa-Hunt syndrome.

Timely diagnosis is essential to prevent vision-threatening complications, though these disorders often mimic neoplasms, vascular malformations, or systemic diseases. Radiologic evaluation with clinical history aids differentiation.

This poster provides an overview of key orbital inflammatory conditions, characteristic imaging findings, and diagnostic pitfalls to enhance accuracy and improve clinical management.
