Background

A review of the literature was performed to identify breast elastography artifacts in both strain elastography and shear wave elastography.  Several artifacts are discribed and details why it occurs and if it is possible to adjust technique to eliminate the artifact.  If the artifact has some diagnostic information it is described.  A review of meta-analysis of both strain and shear wave are reviewed and included in the results.  Computer simulation of some artifacts is presnted to help describe why the artifacts occure.
