Ultrasound 2D-SWE measurements of 53 carotid plaques (n=26 CABG and n=27 controls) were obtained. Ultrasound 2D-SWE of carotid plaques ranges from 1.27 – 6.40 m/s. Carotid plaques in patients for CABG were found to be significantly softer than plaques in controls (mean difference, -1.22 m/s, 95% Confidence Interval -1.90 - -0.55, p = 0.001).
